A tree 5 inches across or more within 10 feet of a property line counts if a neighboring house sits within 150 feet, and so does any work in a Township right-of-way, on slopes of 25% or steeper, within 100 feet of a ridge line, or in a mapped habitat area. Dead and diseased trees are exempt outright.
